AA Robotics demonstrates its first 3D Vision Guided Robot (VGR). Using the power of the SICK IVC 30 Laser scan Vision Sensors and the DENSO VS 6 axis robot and RC7 Controller we have produced another exhibition solution. Parts are placed randomly on an Aylesbury Automation conveyor. The Camera and Laser scanner are trigged to identify the part and its location in X, Y,Z and angle. This is transmitted to the robot over an Ethernet link. Both the robot and the camera have built in Ethernet ports. Tracking software in the robot monitors its position on the conveyor. When it comes to rest the robot arm moves in and picks up the component. This can be seen in the video.
The benefit of the system is that parts do not have to be fully orientated before being picked up and processed, allowing quick change over of parts, lower cost of feeding systems and greater flexibility. For more information Contact:
