RepeatabilityRepeatablity is used by robot manufactures to indicate how capable the robot is of returning to the same position. The normal method of teaching robots is by "jogging" them into position using a pendant. The repeatablity figures are quoted based typically 1Kg payload. The repatable figure is ± and is in three dimensions of XY & Z. The difference between repeatablity and accuracy in robot terms, is in the method of teaching. With a vision system for instance the robot will not be taught a position it will receive coordinates from a camera. These will be calibrated to the robot position and where possible will remove any lens distortion. However the robot accuarcy to arrive at that position is affected by various factors, the most important is the pose of the arm. If accuracy is important then we can do trials with your application to assess suitablity.
