MEET US AT ELRIG Liquid handling and Label-Free Detection Technologies (4th March 2010)

ELRIG Liquid Handling & Label Free Detection 2010

VS-6242-G2 DENSO STERILE Robot

AA Robotics are pleased to announce that they will be participating in the ELRIG Liquid Handling and Label-Free Detection Technologies Conference.

Come and meet us on Stand G1. We will have the first showing of the new DENSO VS-G2 STERILE 6 Axis Robot for you to see and touch!

Requirements from the pharmaceutical and food industries for industrial robots to function in a sterile environment, at a high level of cleanliness, have been increasing. The newly developed DENSO VP-G2 Series of Sterile Robots are suitable for sterile environments. Purpose designed, utilising special coating and sealing technologies, enables the VP-G2 to be installed where Ethyl Alcohol, Isopropyl Alcohol or Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) are used as cleaning agents.  Its cleanroom class P100 (*a) and smooth surface does not allow liquid entrapment.  Additionally, this sterile robot meets pharmaceutical guidelines GAMP (*b). Connections are protected / isolated under the base of the robot.

The VP-Series of DENSO robots combine high speed and repeatability with powerful load-handling capability. The VP-6242-G2 Series of Robots have a 2.0 kg maximum payload capacity and a maximum allowable moment of inertia (0.03 kgm² at J4 & J5, and 0.007 kgm² at J6). In addition, the VP-Series footprint is only 160 x 160 mm, making integration into a machine or process very easy. The VP-6242-G2 Series offer ANSI, UL and CE compliance, making it suitable for Worldwide deployment. The VP-G2 robot combines high speed and repeatability with powerful load-handling capability. The VP-G2 robot has a position repeatability of ±0.02mm, a mass of only 24kg and with brakes on all axis the VP-6242-G2 can be mounted in unconventional ways.

*a    Cleanliness less than 100 particles (particle diameter 0.3μ) per square foot.
*b    Good Automated Manufacturing Practice (production control and quality assurance guidelines for the pharmaceutical industry.
*c    European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group
*d    Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation IPA. The Fraunhofer Institute IPA Certification covers airborne particle emmission, hygienic design, chemical resistance, surface cleanability regarding particles, surface cleanability regarding selected microorganisms and resistance against the action of microorganisms. All wiring and connections to the robot are protected and isolated under its base. The smooth shape and sanitary design is engineered to prevent the adherence or ingress of liquids or other particles.

This ELRIG conference addresses key subjects of fundamental importance to research laboratories: Liquid Handling and Label Free Detection systems.

All assays, be they high throughput screens, secondary screening or low throughput bespoke assays need to get the correct volumes of their various components to the right place at the right time in order that accurate data can be delivered in a meaningful time slot to help decrease the drug discovery cycle.

Label Free detection is currently a very hot topic, and is enabling novel exploration of many biological systems in their native environment.

This event will be a not-to-be-missed chance to hear about and to see some of the very latest developments at the leading edge of these technologies.

Liquid Handling in Challenging Conditions

High quality Liquid Handling is an essential component in almost all laboratories and the use of automated systems and robotics has enabled better, faster and more reliable processes to be developed. The capacity for accuracy and precision in liquid handling dispenses acheived these days is incredible, down to pico litres volumes. However the technologies and applications of liquid handling systems used is often overlooked.

This meeting aims to cover some of the latest developments for this core technique and will focus on applications in some of the most challenging conditions and samples.

The meeting will also address novel methods of Quality Control and delivering an ever wider range of volumes from pico-litres to litres.

Label Free Detection Technologies

The ability to study biochemical and cellular systems in their native state is highly desirable in life science laboratories. In addition to the well established platforms newer technologies are now coming to the fore enabling researchers to probe systems in a manner hitherto impossible. This meeting highlights some of the more significant developments enabled by a range of label free platforms. Both the areas of biochemical and cellular label-free detection systems will be covered in detail, also comparisons will be made to more traditional detection techniques in the drug discovery environment.

Delegates will be able to register for the event, Free of Charge at http://www.elrig.org/.
