Arm Description
The VP-Series of DENSO robots combine high speed and repeatability with powerful load-handling capability. The VP-6242 has a 2.5 kg maximum payload capacity and a maximum allowable moment of inertia (0.03 kgm² at J5, and 0.007 kgm² at J6). In addition, the VP-Series footprint is only 160 x 160 mm, making integration into a machine very easy. The VP-Series is ANSI and CE compliant, making it suitable for European deployment. The VP-6242 robot combine high speed and repeatability with powerful load-handling capability. The VP-6242 robot has a position repeatability of ±0.02mm, a mass of only 14kg and with brakes on all axis the VP-6242 can be mounted in unconventional ways.

Where can you use it?
The robot is ideal for mounting inside a machine to do pick and place applications, typically doing this in less than one second. It has a small foot print so does not use up much space on the machine bed. Its high speed and repeatability makes it the ideal pick and place device.
The RC7 controller could also control you machine, as it has multi tasking software, with force control Device net, Profibus and Ethernet TCP/IP available
The system is also easily connect the a vision system such as Cognex to guide the robot for the pick up or place positions. It has conveyor tracking for 2 conveyors so can operate on the move.
Have a look at the machine application where the VP-6242 has been used. This is in a Robot Barman which demonstrates two VP robots working in conjunction with each other. You can see other applications in here
