Arm Description

The NEW  VS-Series of 6 axis DENSO robots combine incredible high speed and repeatability with powerful load-handling capability. They have a 4 kg maximum payload capacity and a maximum allowable moment of inertia (0.200 kgm² at J4 and J5, and 0.050 kgm² at J6) 2.5 times greater than conventional robots. This enables flexible end-effector designs and a wide range of applications. In addition, the NEW  VS-Series footprint is only 200 x 200 mm, making integration easy. The VS-Series is ANSI and CE compliant, making it suitable for European deployment. The VS-6556 robot has a position repeatability of ±0.02mm, a mass of 34 kg and brakes on all axes.

Arm Features

❚ Maximum composite speed: from 8,300 mm/sec
❚ Superb precision: ±0.02mm
❚ Payloads: up to 4kg
❚ Motion area: 500mm
❚ Multiple mounting options: floor, wall, ceiling
❚ Resists cutting chips and high-pressure washing, thanks to its optional protection class IP67 (Double lip structure)
❚ Slim Design: width 1st arm 189mm / 2nd arm 95mm
❚ Optional: internal wiring for communication interfaces to connect to Gigabit Ethernet and Servo Gripper
❚ Easy connection under the base of the robot (optional)
❚ Bottom-Side Cable Connection: Removes cables from cleanroom environment, facilitates robot cleaning

The Robot is CE marked.

Multiple mounting configurations are posible - see below left.

The robot has 10 air pipes through to the upper arm and 10 electrical signals. Option set with LAN - LAN (1000BASE-TX) x 1 (Option) 17 line Power wire for cameras, etc. - see below right. The optional “Communication Interface” allows users to connect Gigabit Ethernet devices and Servo Grippers easily and directly to the robot flange, thanks to innovative communication internal wiring. This gives users the advantage of avoiding the risk of cables and connections tangling up within their surroundings.

The Dust & Splashproof version VS060G-W is rated at IP67. You can employ these robots in extremely wet conditions thanks to their optional protection class IP67 (which resists even high pressure washing and cutting chips).

Where can you use it

The robot is ideal for mounting inside a machine to do pick and place applications, typically doing this in less than one second. It has a small foot print so does not use up much space on the machine. Its high speed and repeatability makes it the ideal pick and place device.

The Dust & Splashproof version is ideal for mounting inside a machine tool to do pick and place applications, typically doing this in less than one second. The new sealing technology eliminates chip ingress. It has a small foot print so does not take up much space in the machine. It can be mounted on most suitable surfaces at an angle to suit the application. Its high speed and repeatability makes it the ideal pick and place device.

The RC7 controller could also control your machine as it has multi tasking software, with force control, DeviceNet, Profibus and Ethernet TCP/IP available.

Utilising the optional internal wiring the system is easy to connect to a vision system such as Cognex to guide the robot for the pick up or place positions. The optional internal wiring enables full extra axis servo control for the gripper. It has optional conveyor tracking for 2 conveyors, so can operate on the move.

Have a look at the machine applications where the NEW  VS-5050 has been used. You can see other applications in here
